Kristy Grant, creator of Sporty Girl Apparel, grew up in the sport fishing industry. Her father, world renowned sport fishing legend, Captain Bobby Grant, has influenced her lifelong passion not only with fishing but also in hunting.
Even as a little girl Kristy enjoyed drawing fish and wildlife scenes, when she was not drawing she would spend her time engaging in anything that was outdoors: four wheeling, mudding, horseback riding, fishing, spear fishing and hunting, just to name a few.
One thing Kristy has noticed for years that if women wanted to show their interest in either fishing or hunting, there basically were men’s tee shirts.
Kristy believes that women would love to have fitted tees, tunics, dresses and bathing suits showing their same interests, just doing it fashionable.
The idea started when Kristy had nothing to wear to an awards banquet after a local tournament. She went home and painted a marlin chasing tunas on one of her dresses. That night she got so many compliments and people asking her where she bought the dress that she decided to create her own clothing line.
Sporty Girl is a line of clothing that is centered to express a women’s passion for what she loves. There are many women in the world that love the ocean and the woods and the beautiful wildlife that inhabits these environments. Those women would love to have a piece of clothing that symbolizes their passion for the outdoors and looks fashionable.
